What a pair of SmackDown Six era faves will be doing at SmackDown 1000

The somewhat-strange-but-still-welcome reunion of Raw staples Evolution aside (it may end up serving the DX vs. Brothers of Destruction story, but at least it gets us Batista back on WWE television), next Tuesday’s SmackDown 1000 is shaping up to be a nice celebration of the blue brand’s history.

We already knew Rey Mysterio would make his official return to the company on the Oct. 16 broadcast from Washington, D.C. On SmackDown 999, we learned what Rey would be doing – facing United States champ Shinsuke Nakamura in a World Cup qualfying match. The winner of this dream match will join John Cena, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle is the field for Crown Jewel’s prize.

There’s also been a bit of back and forth about what another Superstar who spent a lot of time repping the blue would be doing at the show, but WWE ended the mystery with an announcement:

“The Rated-R Superstar is coming home.

Edge is returning to host a special edition of his talk show ‘The Cutting Edge’ next Tuesday as part of SmackDown’s historic 1000th episode.”

Who will he be chatting up? Maybe this is where Triple H brings his crew out, Undertaker interrupts and they kill a lot of birds with one stone?

Give us your guesses on that, picks on the winner of Rey vs. Nak, and whatever else you’re think or hope we’ll see on SmackDown 1000, below!
