It wasn’t long ago that Seth Rollins spoke openly about how strong a year he’s had. He feels like no one is at his level, outside of maybe AJ Styles, and the work he’s done from SummerSlam last year to SummerSlam this year shows that, particularly his singles work over the past six months or so.
The thing about it, though, is that it came about due to injury.
As he told The South China Morning Post:
“Not that I would wish injury on Ambrose at all, but that was something that lit a fire underneath me. It’s definitely been a blessing in disguise for my singles career.”
You could argue, actually, that it wasn’t just Ambrose’s injury but Jason Jordan’s as well. Rollins had been working in the tag team division and when they were both out, he moved onto the singles scene, where he ripped off an unbelievable string of fantastic matches and a strong run with the Intercontinental championship.
Now, rumors suggest he could be headed back for the tag division with Ambrose set to come back sooner rather than later. Then again, perhaps these quotes can be used for a program with Dean upon his return.
Either way, we know Rollins will make the most of it.
