Brie Bella addresses missed dive spots: ‘I was kind of bummed out’

Mistakes are proof that you are trying. Two weeks ago on Raw, in her first tag match back, Brie Bella tried to hit a pair of suicide dives on The Riott Squad and some mistakes were made.

Early in the match Bella looked to attack Sarah Logan outside of the ring but had her feet caught in the ropes and it led to her dive coming up way too short. In the back half of the tag match with her sister Nikki, Bella looked for another suicide dive but dove too soon and nearly landed headfirst.

Both of Bella’s dives missed their mark and were replayed countless time in handy GIF form.

In an excellent profile piece by Yahoo Sports this week, Bella talks about motherhood, her outside of the ring business ventures, the start to her WWE comeback and she does acknowledge what exactly happened with those missed dive spots.

“With any type of physical body change, it changes so much,” Bella said. “Even last week on ‘Raw’ when I did the suicide dive and it was less momentum than I should have had, I forgot that I’m 10 pounds heavier than what I was. Gravity doesn’t lie. That was a little different for me.

I don’t mind if I fail or if I succeed. No matter what, I want to look back with no regrets. If I fail, last week for example, I went to sleep at night and I was kind of bummed out, but I learned something about myself. I learned where my body is at, where I am at.”

The beauty of live television.

In a high paced match, a dive to the outside is a difficult spot almost every time out.

We see wrestlers hit moves with relative ease so often, that at times we forget the degree of difficulty it takes to pull them off without a hitch. Over the past few years Cesaro, Sasha Banks, The Undertaker and Big E, have all given fans pause with their close calls on dive attempts to the outside.

From the interview, which you should check out, it sounds like Brie is taking her in-ring comeback in stride. Later in the story she also acknowledges she’s unsure how much longer her run as an active competitor will be.

Currently pulling double duty on Raw and SmackDown, will Brie Bella get one more run with one of the main women’s titles before her career is up?
